Croydon Town Centre
Croydon’s visionary £5.25 billion regeneration programme is expected to deliver much needed improvements to it’s local economy, infrastructure and community.
Maynard was commissioned by Croydon Council to review the current wayfinding provision and produce a long term strategy for wayfinding, including a plan for how to keep the town navigable during its transformation. Maynard’s overarching strategy continues to use Legible London as a trusted baseline for navigating Croydon, however we identified additional temporary measures to aid placemaking and wayfinding around construction sites which included utilising construction hoarding across sites owned by multiple developers.
The strategy included an audit of existing hoardings and Legible London infrastructure across Croydon, identifying potential remedial works that would ensure the signs remained relevant and helpful going forward.
