SYD Airport International T1 Opening
Last Friday marked the official opening of the new arrivals forecourt at Sydney Airport’s International Terminal. Over 3,000m2 of green space, 12,200+ native plants, 31 new bench seats, and 150 new wayfinding signs – all come together to deliver a much improved customer and visitor experience.
First Nations perspectives have been embedded throughout the design, construction and maintenance of the forecourt. Wildflower, an Indigenous led not-for-profit organisation that provides meaningful work for people facing barriers to employment, planted more than 12,200 native species, and continue to care for the forecourt gardens.
Congratulations to our design partners, Hassell, for the creation of a place that is not only underpinned, but embedded with Country.
