City Rail Link

The City Rail Link project is set to be transformational for the provision of public transport in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Three new urban rail stations will provide a step change in passenger experience and embed indigenous Māori cultural identity in the very fabric of the city.

Maynard, as part of the LinkAlliance design team, are delivering the system-wide signage and wayfinding for the stations and their surrounding precincts. The operator’s existing information delivery strategies, graphic system and sign products have required significant enhancement in order to be fit-for-purpose and provide a high quality customer experience within the first high-frequency underground stations for Tāmaki Makaurau.

A New Link

The City Rail Link project will realise a long-anticipated opportunity to unlock the bottleneck at the core of Auckland’s rail system, building three new stations to create connections around Auckland’s City Centre.

Work in progress

Remarkable engineering is emerging and construction is proceeding at pace in the dense urban fabric of Auckland’s central city. Aotea Station, running under Albert Street, will be Aotearoa New Zealand’s busiest station when the new line is open.
