Peterborough Legible City System - Maynard

In 2009 Peterborough City
Council delivered the first phase of Cathedral Square, the City’s regeneration project. As part of this project a new city wayfinding scheme was developed, including concepts for the signage products.

Maynard redesigned the signage product range for the proposed wayfinding scheme. We provided rationalised concepts for both totem and fingerpost products whilst also creating a new mapping style to compliment the product design. By value engineering we managed to dramatically reduce the manufacturing costs of the products, whilst also improving legibility, safety and future maintenance.

A revised palette of materials ensured the product reflected the individual character of the City of Peterborough.

Mapping design guidelines were produced and the new signage products were installed in the historical city centre in June 2013.
