Take a tour of the Elizabeth line’s new stations, art & public space this summer

The design line: stations, art and public space on the Elizabeth line exhibition is currently on display at the London Transport Museum, and is the latest exhibition promoting Crossrail after last month’s RIBA exhibition.

As part of the multi-disciplinary C100 consortium for Crossrail, Maynard are proud to be part of these exhibitions.

The exhibition gives an insight into the integrated design of stations, art and public space on the Crossrail project and a preview of the new railway which will be known as the Elizabeth line when it opens in 2018.

Crossrail is delivering 42 kilometres of tunnels, 10 new stations, improvements at 30 existing stations outside the central London, new public spaces and exciting public art installations. The 10 new stations have been designed by different architectural and engineering teams. Known as C100 alongside Atkins and Grimshaw, Maynard’s work focuses on the below ground design language and common components including seating and signage seen inside the new tunnels.

The exhibition showcases the design approach on Europe’s largest infrastructure project and showcases what the finished railway will look like.

The exhibition takes you on a visual journey through the project including material samples, scale models, visualisations and film as well as C100’s bespoke protoype seat for the outer London stations.

It’s such an exciting and ground-breaking project to be working on. We’re looking forward to when it opens in 2018.
