Working directly with the Crossrail Head of Architecture the C100 team were engaged to develop a set of guidelines and principles to form the basis of essential works to be rolled out across the 29 Crossrail surface stations, from Reading in the west to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east.
Upgrades varied from station to station, and the guide was utilised to assist designers to determine the extent of refurbishment or redevelopment necessary. This ensured a consistent delivery of the vision and the Crossrail identity.
The set of strategic guidelines was used to assist TFL and their design teams to prioritise upgrade works required at each station location and enable a clear understanding of the works required. A linewide station audit highlighted the level of station enhancements required, from refurbishment to rebuild.
