1 The Honda Cub
Brilliant. It has been in continuous manufacture sine 1958, production surpassing 60million in 2008. The most produced motor vehicle in history. Says it all. Every city should be full of them. It’s not pretending to be anything else. I will buy one soon.
2 Steel Push Bikes
Forget aluminium this, carbon fibre that. Fashion this. Fashion that. Steel is real. And it can be lightweight. It can be repaired no problem. And super recyclable.
3 Triumph Motorbikes
A british firm building great bikes with glorious engines. They are taking on and beating the might of the Japanese manufacturers. Should be shouted about. Best bike – the T509 speed triple, big dirty and proper.
4 Micro Scooter
Every kid’s got one. A great design, super light and with steering…brilliant. A great piece of design.
5 The Mk1 VW Golf
I bought one of these for £50. Used it for 9 years with no problems. Always managed to fit Ikea shopping purchases in the boot. And they’re beautiful. A design classic.
